Naming the Company: Why 'Mind Map Coaching'

Settling on a name and visual identity for this venture wasn't just about corporate branding—it was deeply personal.

Settling on a name and visual identity for this venture wasn't just about corporate branding—it was deeply personal.

For a long time, I had to be my own investigator, trying to figure out how my own neurodivergent brain worked. I kept asking myself a frustrating question: Why does high intellectual ability not always result in successful academic outcomes? Later, as an educator, I started seeing that exact same heartbreaking struggle in my own students. Brilliant kids were getting lost in the gap between their potential and traditional school systems.

To solve this crisis, I did what any builder does: I started mapping. A mind map is a tool that lets you look directly at a central problem from the middle of the page, drawing outward branches to see exactly what connects to it. I used the mind-mapping method to brainstorm, study, and figure out what truly makes a young brain tick and operate at an optimal level. That mapping process didn't just help me align my personal journey with my professional experience—it gave birth to the entire mission and vision of this company.

This brings us straight to our visual mark.

If you look at our logo, you'll see a brain branching down into two M's (for Mind Map) that connect seamlessly into three distinct circles at the bottom.

By naming the brand Mind Map, we honor the cognitive science and data tracking powering our telemetry engine. By adding Coaching, we keep the brand warm, empathetic, and approachable for families who are completely exhausted by cold, clinical jargon. It's a complete ecosystem built on lived experience, designed to rewrite the future of K-5 learning.
